Found something interesting the other day.
I changed to an old CH press, don't know what model, after my Lee Classic cast broke.
I kind of miss the Lee.
The CH is a tilt back press. Single stage. Very heavy.
I use it only for sizing, depriming, forming cases.
When depriming, the primers fall into the slot for the priming arm.
Have to dig them out. They fall all over the place.
I took the ram out to see if I could turn the slot to the rear, and make a filler for the slot.
Was going to make a pan to catch the primers when they eject out the back.
When I got the ram out and cleaned up, I noticed a hole, that was plugged with old primers, through the ram.
Seems that went a primer falls into the slot, for the primer arm, it's suppose to fall through the hole, through the ram, out the bottom, and into the trash.
Hole looked kind of small, but i just left it alone.
Tried it by depriming a few cases, and it worked great.
I wondering how long before a primer gets stuck and gums up the whole thing again.
I wonder if the RCBS press can be modified to do this???
