I picked a beautiful older Uberti/Navy Army marked 1875 Remington in 45LC. It dates to 1975. I am fairly new to revolver shooting but am quickly becoming an addict. The throats slug to .457 and the barrel's groove diameter is .452 What should I do here? I am going to guess that a soft bullet sized to .457 is going to be the best bet. But that's still quite a squeeze. My Lee Mould is dropping the 250g RNFP's at .453. Thinking i'll beagle this one.
Will a .457 even seat and chamber? I guess Uberti was going off the old gun specs here and maybe a hollow base .454 would be a better candidate for this revolver.
