I related some months ago that I was having this problem using my RIA .45. (See http://castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?t=31010&highlight=jam )

The general consensus was to try another mag (I did, same problem) or to seat the bullet out farther, or just ditch the Lee 200 gr SWC mold alltogether.

Well you know what the solution was?

Seating the bullet DEEPER- so that the trunk of the body was seated BELOW the case edge, ever so slightly. The loaded rounds LOOK pretty funny now, but they feed 100% reliably- 200 rounds worth anyhow, still testing. :-D

Just thought anyone with the same issue with this bullet might like the info.

Wow! Each gun is different in what it wants. Glad you worked it out. DALE

I found that on two of mine.
I suspect, with casting unlike jacketed, the lead does not function like the jacket material in centering the round.
I found, going just a bit deeper cycled my action with much smoothness!
I cannot see how they look in battery. I can see how the pistol looks with the slide a little out.
That method works well for me.

You never know, every firearm is an individual.

I used to run SWCs in my Camp45 and my 1911A1 without a problem. I tried the Lee 200 SWC and it was jamming like crazy. I too seated them down to the case mouth. We'll see how they do.
