I recently received two new LBT molds and am anxious to get to the range with these bullets. One is a 340 grain WLN for my 45 Colts and the other a 240 grain WLN for my 401 Powermag. I've had great luck with heavy bullets in the 41 mags I've had over the years and thought the 401 deserved a heavy bullet mold. I'll be testing some loads Monday with this bullet over Trail Boss, Unique, 2400 and H110.

Left is the .403 240 grain WLN and on the right the .452 340 WLN.

Nice looking bullets! What alloy are you casting with?

The alloy is about 60/40 wheel weights and mono type. According to my LBT hardness tester it runs right at 18BHN 3 days after casting. The same alloy water dropped runs at 25BHN. I'm almost out of wheel weights and will have to start alloying my lino and mono type with pure lead or range lead.

That type metal sure makes for a well filled out bullet.

I still use LBT molds that I got around 1990, some of the best molds I have ever cast with.
