I'm thinking about buying this mold for my M77 .350 which runs about .3500"/.3575" with a bit more throat than a typical .35-366. The mold's picture on Midway's website looks like it has one lube groove and a crimp groove but Lyman's 45th says it has two lube grooves. Would this boolit be a good speed demon from the .350? What weight boolits would 358315 cast in 50/50 (Pb/WW) metal?

My solid weighs 202gr and is .355". The HP is 5gr less at .358, both without gas checks. If I get much past 2100fps in my Whelen, they start to open some, but at 2250fps, a 4" hunting group is good enough for me. ...Geo

I have 2 single cavitys , hope to soon turn 1 into a HP
Both run 206 - 207 gr bare depending on the alloy

Out of my wellen ,using air cooled WW
2000 is about max before the groups open up
using Water droped WW
2100-2200 fps is about max before the groups tend to open up

I tryed Lino years back
Got the groups to hold togeather at ? , I remember it was fast ther than 2200 fps CRS
But it would not work well for hunting , besides I ran out of Lino

Good bullet. I am particularly fond of the HP version in my .35 Remington leverguns. So far, my best accuracy is right at 2000 fps with 36.0 grains of 4895.

I've used it in the 35Rem,the 358Win and the Whelen. I use a Lyman #2 alloy and Have a single and 2 cavity molds They do NOT drop the same weight from the same alloy. Weight of the single holer runs about 215 ready to shoot, the 2 cavity drops a 208 grain gas checked /lubed bullet. Any of them will work on deer with the same powder charge though!
One of these days I'm going to try it in the .358JDJ contender. Just to see if it will lead up the break!

USed it in the 35 Whelen. Shot good. Have to get one of my own someday.

Wow... it even works in a Whelen.

So how does it compare to the RCBS 35-200FN as far as accuracy beyond 2300fps? If I were to buy a 2-cavity mold today, what would be the chance of my bullets in 50/50 alloy dropping at .3590" to .3595"?

Faster speeds do not always give decent accuracy. Lube and other things can effect the bullet/barrel harmonics. I use a Lyman #2 alloy for harder bullets BUT, I normally deer hunt with straight wheel weight alloy. I try to keep velocity in the 2000/2100 fps area. IF more power is needed, I use a bigger bullet. I will play around trying for higher velocity, but I'm only playing. Recoil starts to work on these OLD bones now.

In my experience in the .35 Rem, the nose diameter is too small on the 358315. I've had much better accuracy out of the RCBS 35-200-FN./beagle
