I'd like to try a cast bullet in my 600 and 40X Remington rifles, but this Lee bullet looks way to long.

I've noticed NOE makes a mold that they refer to as 'Kurtz' and that may be what I'm looking for. Unfortunately, NOE doesn't respond to email so dealing with them seems impractical.

So, does anyone have input on the Lee 140 grain and the 6.5 Remington Magnum?

Are you sure you mean Lee 140gr?
I didn't think they made a 140gr 6.5 ?

I have owned three different NOE 6.5 molds for my Jap 38 custom 257R x 6.5
The 145gr FN
The 134gr Kurtz
The 149gr RN

I sold the first two molds, that I listed as they didn't work out with my Rifle's throat, the RN appears to be promising, but I haven't shot enough of them yet, for a good test.

Thanks for the response. I think this mold is 'The Cruise Missile' designed for the 6.5x55...

That's the mold and being 170 grains makes for a long bullet, that doesn't seem well suited to the 6.5 magnum...

I don't know anything about the 6.5 Rem Mag.
I assume your barrel is US made to US specs, of .264
What I do know, as I've owned a couple of the Midsouth 6.5 molds, that they cast FAT...Fatter than Spec.
The Specs says .268 but the two different molds I had cast .271 to .272
also the Nose is fat, I guess designed to fit a worn Military rifle throat.
SO, what I'm implying, is that I'd guess that boolit would be way to FAT.

The SAAMI specs I saw say that you can expect a .2644" throat and .264" bore groove diameter with a .256" bore. The Grendal 125 gr might work well for you.

Also, the neck on this case is short when the bullet weight exceeds 120 grains.

I have 2, Lee `Cruise Missile` moulds that cast at .269/.2695 for my 6.5x52 Carcano.

The original 170gn bullet didn't work, the cut down 150gn does.

These moulds are cheap enough to try and cut one down (see photo) and not worry too much if you get it wrong.

Mine turned out ok and shoots well.
