I've used it in .223. Works OK and goes bang when ya pull the trigger. But my reason for posting is that I've started to see "LOTS" of ads for this powder lately. Low as $60/8lb. Anybody know what gives??? And although it's a rifle powder, anybody know about using it in pistol calibers??? (I think it would be too (slow??) to be much use in pistol)....................................Lee ;)

Best used in bottle necked cases, holding 25-40 grains of powder. NOT for straighted walled pistol cases; too slow. ... felix

aa2230c data powder is slower, need more to get the same results as 2230.

data 86 is faster than aa2230, and needs a decrease of 2230 load data.

i have shot lots of 2230c data in 223 works great.
it has also produced excellent groups in my 223 ar br rifle...

ACCURATE DATA POWDER 86 - EXTRUDED is between 4350 and 3100 burn rate, way slower than the 2230 variants. You may be thinking of DATA 2200 powder that they had a while back.DATA 2200 was a little faster than 2230.

I haven't seen it for sale anywhere in quite awhile. If you live close to Central Cal. I have a jug or two that I would sell, but can't ship the stuff.

www.natchezss.com has Accurate 2230 in an 8# keg for $109.99

I know that's not what you asked for, but that's all I could find.

And unless you buy enough and they cut some slack, the shipping&hazmat will kill your wallet.....................Lee:wink:

Thanks Lee, I bought my current supply of 2230C from them probably 4 years agi. At that time they had plenty. I may have to try the 2230, but it might be too hot in my 6PPC. I'm thinking about switching to H322.

felix

H322 would be hotter than AA2230, as for typical lot vs typical lot. ... felix

Actually my understanding(from reading) is that the 2230c is basically the same burning rate as 2460. So when I run out of my 2230c, I will go in that direction.
