Uncle Dino made me do it!

Pics of those pretty slugs he kept posting in 20 ga. was enough to get me to bite. What a weak man I am! And when this Savage 220 popped up, well, I just couldn't stand it. Got it scoped up, some of those slugs showed up in the mail and here we go.
3" Cheddite new hulls, 30 gr Steel, meplat nose with good shoulder for roll crimp, about 1650 fps. Advance notice: those wobbly pillows I propped on over hood of truck didn't help my mediocre shooting. And for an old shotgunner used to yanking and slapping a shotgun trigger it took me a few shots to believe this trigger. Lighter than any rifle I own. Oh what a pleasure to shoot compared to the monster 12 loads though. 3/4 oz total weight slugs. Pics coming.

Let's see, 200 fps faster than the hottest 44 mag 3/4 oz load on the planet and this being 60 caliber you just might be right. May just change my handle to HogTickler!

Barrel is really hot after 3 shots but I let 'em rip anyway. Gotta shoot these off the sled cause Dino says they group 2" with him shooting. Plus these target got no hair on 'em. Markopolo, here's link to Dino's website.

After the sorry showing last time, reloaded and headed back to my pasture better prepared. 1st pic is 10 shots at 100 yds, 3" new cheddite hulls with 32 grns Steel, ~ 1700 fps. Yep, it's still a very light trigger dummy, fired before I was nearly ready, so there are only 9 slugs on target. 10 mph or so left to right wind with gusts a little higher. Should add that's 2 holes just below bull, and there was prolly enough breeze to move those slugs several inches at this distance.

Second pic is 2 3/4 new cheddite with 24 gr 800x, ~ 1400 fps
Also shot 5 - 2 3/4" w/43 gr Lil Gun, ~ 1600 fps but forgot to take pic. Also shot one of the 880x loads at that target by mistake. What a pleasure these things are to shoot! Pretty sure some of y'all would get a better group than this old codger.

Found one slug that had been through a 3" pine limb on the edge of the brushpile I was using as a backstop. Plastic base ripped off and I found it too. Great slugs and I can't wait to put one through something. Terrific work D!
