Are you referring to the 358-430? I dare say it has been used, but I do not recommend round-nosed boolits for hunting, or self defense. They don't work well.
I would recommend one of the NOE RD boolits if you want a heavy for caliber boolit for 357 magnums. Al has a 190 grain gas checked Ranch Dog boolit that would work well , albeit the nose might be a bit long for some guns. If you are talking 35 Remington in a rifle, these would be excellent.

This statement has always puzzled me. Almost every 35 Whelen shooter praises the 279 grain 358009 bullet for hunting. Doesn't the 358430 have the same nose profile as the 358009?

Yes it does and anyone with a flat sizing punch can bump a flat nose greater than a 31141's on the nose while sizing.
