Curious if anyone is shooting one of these old Marlins (1950 birth year)? I have one that has been pushed to the back of the closet for years. I've never shot it in the 30 or so years I've had it (family hand me down). It is very nicely set up with a nice Stith mount and scope from the period (probably why it has never interested me). My eyes are getting older and the scoped Marlin has gotten some interest now. Maybe I can find a peep sight for it..
This rifle is in 35 Remington so brass is easy enough to get. What I'd be interested in is something on the order of .357 power/cost to shoot (once I have some brass). I have not slugged the bore but assume in the .357 range. Pistol bullets would be nice if they will chamber (SWC for the tube magazine). What kind of accuracy might one get from light cast in the old lever gun?
