Hi Guys, several years ago, I made a black powder lube from that all elusive “Navy Surplus Beeswax” It worked great in Muzzle Loaders and BPCR Rifles. It would stay stay put on the bullets in the Arizona summer heat and was still soft enough to use on Minnies in your muzzle loader in the winter.

Al Nelson from NOE called me a little while back and said that he had some of the surplus wax still sitting in a box from way back when. He sent it to me and I dug out the old recipe, So there is a small batch of “BPCR Supreme” in 1# blocks made and at NOE. I made one small change from the original. It used to have a small amount of Peppermint Oil in it for a preservative, but there was some comments that it was too smelly for hunting, so I left it out this time.

I believe that the Navy Surplus beeswax was sold by a gentleman located in Henderson,Nevada and I still have some. Often wondered what the story was behind the Navy Surplus beeswax. So if anyone would care to share the story I'm all ears. Frank
