I just found a used mold I bought today off eBay in the 44 cal 240g hollow point and cant find any pics of what they look like. I wanted a GC style HP and this looked like it takes a GC. Paid a good price. A little over $60 shipped with handles. Saw one that went for $20 shipped on this site a month a ago but couldn't find any others unless I spent more on a Lyman or rcbs. Should be fun to try out. It's my first HP I'll be molding. Anyone mold these that I can see a photo of? Thanks

I'm going to use these out of my 44 mag rifles and pistols. How hard or soft should my lead be for these and do I dare hunt deer and black bear at close range with a HP? Was thinking WQ WW

Yeah I know, it's not made anymore. But that's the number printed right on the box. It's the same as the non HP version. A single cavity mold. It's pretty cool looking. I'm guessing they stopped making them about 8-10 years Ago? These were the pics in the ad...

I have the mold, don't have any pictures though. It's a basic SWC with a hollow point. $60? Wow! I must have gotten lucky, I paid half that. At $60 I think I would have just saved up a bit and gotten a NOE.

PaulG67, Lee has a really bad habit of recycling SKU numbers.

I knew i paid a bit much. Impulse buy. Woke up this morning n had to have a HP. That's alright, cry once. Only one I saw available for sale on the net. I saw a couple that sold for $70 and one on here that sold for $20 shipped.

I found that sprue plate lube on the large base of the pin and graphite pencil on the tip (hp) +lubing the regular parts help these molds last longer and cast better

I have the same mold in .357. Got it off the Lee website when they discontinued them. I've cast over a thousand boolits with it and it's going strong. Never had a problem of them sticking, just turn the mold over, open it with a little force, and the boolit jumps out.

There's both a .44 and a .357 that showed up on eBay this morning.

I was tempted by the .357 but I just got a NOE .357 HP.

Just showed today. The back of the mold is dented. Did someone do this to line the mold up, damage, or done like this from the factory? Bull wolf looks like yours has a ding in it too, maybe it's an alignment thing? My other lee molds are smooth not like this...

Yes my mould has a ding in the same location, and only on one side.

No idea what it was for, or why it's there.

I purchased my mould many years ago, at a gun show.

Never noticed the ding until you mentioned it. It does not appear to affect how it will cast, in any way that I've ever noticed.

Now I'm going to have to check my mold.
