Planning on a 300 BLK AR w/9" barrel and wonder if anyone has success with cast boolits in that caliber and if so how the were the loads developed. I have an older 150 gr NOE mold that is no longer in production and that was ACCURATE in an M14s and a 311359 mold that comes out about 120 gr. The cast loads would be practice loads.

BTW my 30 gr 4064 load with Dacron and 185 303 Brit Lee boolit in 3006 is looking good.

Thanks

seabreeze

Any advice would be appreciated.

There is a lot of good info out there on shorter barrels in 300 blk. I've got a 7.5 inch I am starting to work with a HP 247 grain NOE that I have high hopes for. You may want to scan through 300blktalk.com.

Works fine in a 10" you lose some fps but not a lot.

I need more coffee. I THOUGHT I read that you put 30 grs of 4064 in the .300 Blackout! Oh well I'm awake now. I pursued cast in my 16" BO for a bit then moved on because I have other guns that love cast. I may give it a try again later. popper can tell you what's what for sure.
Best, Thomas.

I have been playing with a 300BO for a while. If you powder coat you might look into the NOE HTC 309-153-SP. I found it by accident because he doesn't have it listed with his other .30 caliber molds. It is listed with "HTC Bullets for Hi-tec". I am getting around 2" groups at 80 yards with just enough aa1680 to cycle the bolt.
