Going to hunt this year with my 1903 manufactured Win 94 30 WCF. I have everything but the mold and looking to buy some boolits to try before I buy a mold. A lot of people recommend the 311041. Looking for something cast around 50/50 alloy but with gas checks. I haven't cast the chamber yet, but would think something around .311-.312 should work for the old rifle.

Any input appreciated.

I'd be willing to help you out. I only have a .309 sizer die though. I do not have any cast from 50/50 (WW/Pure lead), but could get some made up in a week or so, not sure how soon you need them. I have shot these out of my 94, 1980's manufacture and they work good. The ones I have made up are 50/50 WW/LT. I would send you 100 for cost of shipping if you can wait for a week or 2 and if the .309 size would work for you. Or could cast them and send as cast, although I am not sure what the dia would be from my mold with 50/50, I am assuming you mean WW/Pure. Let me know, be glad to help if I can.

I'll be second with an offer of help. I shoot a Marlin 1893, manufactured in 1899. It is chambered in 30-30.

I have an NOE 311041. I gas check them and lube them with BLL.

I size them at .311" for my Marlins and at .312" for my Springfield '03.

I don't know the exact alloy that's in my pot. I use a combination of range scrap and COWW, plus a little tin when I have some.

I would be happy to send you some with gas checks and some plain base ones also for plinking.

If you prefer them unlubed I could do that for you.

We have to keep the old lever guns going.

It is getting to be my busy time of the year, plus we are in the middle of a heat wave. Next week I am home before I leave again and the temps are going to drop. I will be casting some for myself. A few more will be no problem.

You both are awesome. I am in no hurry at all. I will cast the chamber pretty soon and let you all know which one would work best in my gun. I appreciate the offers and quick response.

Thanks,

Rick

Don't overlook the commercial casters, Montana Bullet Works offers the 311041 to .308" or .309" in a fairly hard alloy, however they may make you some in their softer alloy with Veral's soft lube which is great in a rifle caliber. I would think their BHN14 alloy with soft lube would work great in a .30-30 for hunting.

I have some 311041's , 50/50 powder coated. Sized 311.

Dis-reguard my post. I checked my boolits and they are 310 ? sorry.

Let me know if you still need help with 311041, I have about 25-30 ready to go sized 311 with Lee sizing dies and lubed with Alex. Mostly wheel weights and some 95% tin solder mixed in.
