Wife bought some nice sirloin steaks. We seldom eat beef because of the cost and our red meat is usually venison. She also bought some nice big shrimp and made steak on the grill and shrimp scampi and some corn on the cob. She also made a strawberry rhubarb pie for desert with a scoop of ice cream. Meal fit for a king

Snacks here, met for breakfast, which we do from time to time anyway. So eggs, toast, sausage, hashbrowns with hot sauce and ketchup. Only difference is I like whole wheat toast, kids picked up a taste for rye toast from my dad when he was alive for our breakfast meetings.

Ham, chicken, tater salad, green beans, squash casserole, corn, canelope, watermelon, peach and apple pies, Pound cake, tea, coffee, and soft drinks, with my whole family and some of their friends for a total of 31.
The home cooking was great, the fellowship was exceptional, and the fact that so many showed up was extra special.
Truly a day to remember.
Wish you were here to share it with us.

Chicken in diced tomatoes with white rice and green beans. The chicken recipe is one I discovered when our oven broke and I made dinner on the stove top with what I had in the house. It has become a favorite of ours.

Bone out a chicken, cut into 1 inch (or so) chunks
Brown the chunks in a large fry pan get a good caramel going in the bottom of the pan
Add one 14 ounce can of diced tomatoes, one 4 ounce can of tomato sauce, garlic, a lot of paprika, salt and pepper
Cover and simmer 45 minutes
Take off the lid, finish the sauce with a nice splash of olive oil, stir and serve over white rice

I'm sorry you asked this question but in an attempt at being 100% truthful ........... I had 2 chicken salad sandwiches I got at a travel shoppe on I44 west bound in Tulsa OK . They had about a tablespoon of chicken salad right in the middle of the sandwich . After peeling off the dry inedible crust I ended up with 2 small bites per sandwich . Thanks for asking ! lol

Hi...
My son took my wife and I out to dinner for Father's Day.
Medium rare ribeye, baked potato, salad with ranch dressing and stuffed mushrooms.
Nice dinner and a nice day.

Marinated chuckeye steak, slow smoked on the Traeger grill to 125F, then seared on a smoking hot cast iron griddle until nicely caramelized and crispy on the outside, dark pink and juicy on the inside!

And some lobster tails, split, buttered, slow smoked with the steaks, then barely grilled on cast iron until just barely done.

no laughing from me. Sounds pretty good on the list here when some are eating RAW FISH! Youd think on a special day like fathers day you could get someone to deep fry it!!:redneck:

I buy the cheap roasts and cut them into steaks. Just bought some at Aldi's for $3.89 per lb. Broil them medium rare. 3.5 min per side. Just as good as the expensive stuff.
