And kick themselves for not getting one of these very practical 35 Remington carbines when they were available.

What was their model number suffix letter?

In trying to search for one, I can't weed-out the other Marlin 35's without looking at each listing.

Thanks, and that's a nice pair of carbines.

You're either smart, lucky, or both to have grabbed them when the grabbing was good.

Not my toys - just pictures to see if that's the info you were needing help with.

The M1895M (.450 Marlin)
The M336D (.35 Rem)
The M336LTD (.35 Rem)
The M444P Outfitter (.444 Rem)
The M1894CP (.357 Mag)
The M1894P (.44 Rem Mag)

Are their barrels fully rifled?

I'd forgot that they were ported.

I see, if not agree with, the rationale in the biggies; but, certainly, not a mild 35R and even little PCCs.

I like that!

Did you buy'em when they were being made, or did you have to search high and low near and far?

I held an 1894P in my hands at the LGS, decided I didn't need it and handed it back. Haven't seen one since around here. Fool!

I bought the 30/30 about 1969, it was used but like new. I picked up the 35 a few years later. Just
on a whim because I liked the short barrel. This was way before they became collectors items.
I remember first time I took the 30/30 to deer camp most of the crew said barrel was to short to
be practical. The last 20 yrs same guys pester me to death trying to trade me out of it. I have a
mental cut off date on purchase of guns of all makes. In Marlins that is 1980, anything newer I
don't pay much attention to as a keeper.

Mine was $399 new, and I only bought 1. Not too bright there either.

Don't recall such short barreled models other than the 45-70 Guide rifles. Than again I quit watching Marlin 336 model additions and changes quite some time ago when Marlin started making their {Push-Here} button receivers.

Not to hard to make your own, I bought one years ago with the thought of cutting the barrel down to 16.5", but just haven't done it yet.

I remember the earlier Guide Guns were ported, but then they quit. I hear that the gas velocity was a bit too low to make much difference.

Kind of doubt the other smaller cartridges below .444 were.

Good morning
The solution for many fellers for years has been a square, a hacksaw, a file and a bit of stone work.

The short lived 1894SBL was the one I was interested in. I saw one at the Melbourne SHOT Expo and never heard of any more here.

Greetings
Sort of like here in Peru. Saw one Marlin 15 years ago. It was chambered in 357 mag. By the time I got my dollars together it was gone in less than 24 hours.

I've got a 70' 100th anniversary 336 and a lmt edition 7600 carbine. They knock stuff sideways and both shoot under MOA with j words at a 100 yards.

My 1894CP is a hoot to shoot but I'll never understand that porting.
