Did you get around to trying 4198 (either one) in that 44VHS ?
Your case capacity is real close to the 444 Marlin brass. I would think using the starting loads for the 444 (even drop another 10%) with what ever near bullet weight and you will be just fine.
Plus you could give Accurate Powder a jingle. The "technicians" there are very helpful with "new application" of powders. They enjoy helping with the obscure calibers. When we were looking into loading 5744 in our 50-95 the feller was thrilled. He near said "finally something other than 308 or .223".
