Friend told me about this. Happened last week Thursday.
Don't know anymore.
Seems a guy made an upper for his AR, to shoot 9mm.
Didn't have a muzzle break, so he took the one off the .223 upper.
Fired a few rounds through it, until the guys on the side of him told him something was wrong.
Seems they were getting hit with something.
9mm through a .223 muzzle break is not good.
No one got hurt.
Also heard of a banana barrel that happened last week.
Don't know details, but the guy shooting it didn't even know it happened.
He had chambered another round, and was going to fire, when someone stopped him.
Kind of spooky when you have people, who really don't know what their doing, working on something that can go really badly.

I've seen some cheap 9mm barrels out there lately threaded 1/2"-28tpi for 5.56 muzzle brakes. Usually 9mm brakes are 1/2"-36tpi, so I'm sure that guy isn't alone in screwing on a 5.56 brake and just going shooting. I've made a few 9mm, 357, and 44 barrels using 5/8"-24tpi or 11/16"-24tpi brakes as I don't like how paper thin the 1/2" threads are in 9mm or the 5/8" ones on larger bores. I always check to make sure there is adequate clearance though the brake before screwing it on, and then check alignment once done.
