I got this mould from a member here. I'm casting a batch this afternoon.
Does anyone have experience with this boolit in .38 Special loads?
I have Unique, Red Dot, and Bullseye powder.
I would like to run them around 1000 fps from 4" barrels.
Best, Thomas.

Just start with starting Data for a 125 boolit and probably Bullseye

I can't help with the 115 gr but I shoot thousands of the 121 TC (9MM) in my .38 Pistol and .357 rifles. My standard load in .38 spl brass is 4.2/BE and that is just a titch over1000 fps in my revolvers. That load groups in the 2" range@ 50yds out of the handguns. I expect velocities will be very close with your 115.

Thank you. I discovered that it's a 105 gr SWC. I'm going to try 5grs Bullseye to start.

4.0-4.5 of Red Dot works well with the Lee 105 SWC bullet. Red Dot is much fluffier than Bullseye, so you'll get better standard deviations with it. Be sure to check for double charges.

Thanks Wally. I like RD in several cartridges; I've never tried it in .38 Special but I will.

Been wanting to give Bullseye a shot. Fecmec, how does that load do in a rifle?

Think of it as a big .22. I shoot 4.5/BE with both the Lee 120 TC and the 125 RNFP in mag cases. Velocity is around 1230 fps and accuracy with both bullets is 3 moa @100 yds. I have shot the 120 TC to 200 yds and accuracy holds up to that range. They closed our 200 yd range some time ago and have not been able to shoot the 125 rnfp beyond 100 so I can't speak to that. Bullseye in the .38 is the "Gold" standard of powders. I buy it in 8 lb. jugs.

I chose to Lee dip .5 cc(4.6grs) of Bullseye with the bullets unsized and tumble lubed. Offhand accuracy was good at 20' for my wife & I although she complained that her group was low. I love adjustable sights. It reminds me of shooting .32 H&R mag. I hope to shoot some more tomorrow.

These will work. Hitting a 1" targ dot at twenty feet is almost easy. I have raised the rear sight for a dead on hold at 25 yds and squirrels here we come!

I have used that boolit sized .356 in 9mm and unsized in 38 Spl. Very accurate and FUN to shoot.
