I have a .357 mountain mold that I think will be a great one. If it turns out to be as good as I think it will be, I will probably want to have one made for my .44

My question is, how do I change the data to fit the .44?

Multiply nose length by 1.2? (358x 1.2= .430)

Add the shank for GCs and have a single lube groove with equal body bands?

Would there be any advantage to a .120 front band instead of a .100?

Here is the mold I already have in .357

Thanks,

I'd use it as a good idea and eyeball it.

If you use the numbers "one" dimension will make it look off.

You know what you want, just go from there.

I have a 280gc mtn mold for my S&W 44mag.It's a tack-driver.It has a .100 drive band and a .400 nose. It's a TanOGF.A secant would probably shoot well also.I like a snug fit so I use the TAN design the most for my guns.I didn't change the lube groove above the GC.I like to push GC boolits hard but don't feel the need for more lube capacity. My 240GC RCBS boolits are very accurate also and it has a small lube groove above the gas-check.I like big lube grooves in Plain base boolits but don't think they're needed in GC designs.
