I've had one version or another of this bullet for years..(forty or so)

I finally got serious about it..

Ideal 311291 - 28gr of 3031 = accurate to 500m. It is my pet Rife Caliber Lever Action match reload in a 30wcf Winchester 94
Another 30-30 or 308 bolt action bullet is the 411413 with 28gr of 3031 = accurate to 500m also

I use the Ideal 311291 for most all 30 cal loads as well. It is a great bullet.

Gee...I always thought a 311291 was mandatory for any boolit caster owning a Krag, '03 Springfield, or Garand.

Seems to work moderately well in the .300 B.O. also, Only "problem" is seating depth.

Mine is an old four cavity Lyman and it gets used for just about anything thirty caliber except the thirty carbine . I've got good result in the thirty Badger case with just a tiny bit of 700X to push it out .

Yes , well if you look for an older Lyman mold your chances are good at enjoying it . On the other hand I hear there are some good makers that Lyman quality doesn't come close to if you want a new mold .

I think you have explained why this one from NOE works..as I said this mold cast a bullet with full .312 bands ,including the upper one ..it also cast a bullet with a .301 + nose...(with 4-4-92 alloy)
