I need a little help. I've got a late model 94 (circa 1992) with a tang site. Having trouble developing a decent load with the RCBS 32-170-FN. I've tried several loads with different powders, seating the bullet and crimping in the crimp groove. Accuracy is lousy to say the least (mostly 5" or larger groups). My WW mold drops the bullet at about 184gr. I have some loads put together seating the bullet to the top band and crimping over it, but haven't had a chance to shoot those yet.

What over all length works best for this bullet in a recent model 94?

Felix: These are water quenched bullets that I lube/size the next day, putting on a Hornady 32 cal gas check. My Lyman sizer is .321, but the bullets come out of the sizer at .322. I haven't slugged the barrel yet (my long brass rod is missing and I haven't got around to replacing it). When I use the crimp groove, the bullets normally have some engraving, while seating them deeper eliminates that. Any other info you need?

Mike, use the 323 sizer, and wait a week after water dropping before doing so. Seat to get the engraving. If no sizer, then don't, and just do the crimp action. ... felix

definately go with the larger diameter boolits, and it takes some time for the wquench
to fully harden.
