I have neither used nor examined Pachmayr's Diamond Pro SP101 grip. Photographs appear to show a smaller top-to-bottom grip when compared with SP101's original OEM grip. I deduce its height by comparing its finger grooves with Hogue's Monogrip® - that is, the Monogrip has more finger grooves.

Anyone who has a Diamond Pro grip - In terms of height, width, thickness, and overall ergonomics or comfortable use, please compare it with Ruger's original SP101 OEM (the one using inserts on both sides).

Oh well. I'm certain now that the Diamond Pro grip is no more than a lateral move. I discovered that the LCR's Hogue Tamer grip fits SP101s - almost. LCR's bizarre oversized trigger guard causes its grip to leave a large gap, perhaps .250 inch between SP101's rear of trigger guard and the non-mating area of LCR's grip. Of course, SP101 would need to have drilled-and-tapped a threaded hole for Tamer's mount screw. And such hole would not interfere in any way with SP101's functioning. . . . As I began, oh well.

Whenever I'm dealing with grips for a snubnose I must keep the need for concealment at the top of my criteria. Unfortunately that often results in a compromise in size/fit.
Grips are REALLY personal and what works for one person may not work for another. When dealing with a snubnose revolver for concealed carry, it gets even more difficult because once you make the gun too large to be concealed you might as well go to a bigger gun.

The factory grips for the SP101 are pretty good !

I use the Pachmayr's Compac Grip for the SP101. It's shorter than the originals but feels bigger. My favorite Grip for the SP101.

The Pachmayr Compac Pro is the best grip I've ever found for my S&W 637. Wish they made it for more guns.
