I am going to be buying a conical mould for my Pietta 1851 Navy replica and there are two versions available. One is listed as .44 caliber/.450" and the other is listed as .44 caliber/Ruger .456". I am not sure which one I would need. I slugged the barrel as well as the cylinders and this is what I got. Cylinders are .445. Business end is .440 land to land and .447 groove to groove. I don't really care if these are not going to work. I plan to buy one either way because I get gift certificates to Cabela's all of the time from work and even if it does not work I will probably be able to drop one into a sabot and send it down the barrel of my inline. Thanks in advance for any input.

I'd go for the .44/.450"...
I 've heard the Ruger is "larger"..
With your bore of .447, ...the .456 Ruger would seem to be too large.

Good luck.

A different breed of cat, than my M1860 Pietta .44 - which uses the same .457 RB as my Ruger Old Army.
