Has anyone used Fg in a 45-70? On Goex site they show that for the powder used on their data page. Reason i am asking is because i have a bunch of it i bought for fast draw blanks but a year ago i got arthritus bad in my drawing hand and can't shoot my SA.

It will work, but the velocity will be considerably less than with 2f.

I use 80 gr of Swiss 1F with 525-550 gr paper patch boolits in my .45-70. I would think that you could get a similar load to work with GOEX.

I used a lot of it in my 1885 C. Sharps. I have a Brooks Creedmoor bullet with two reduced driving bands so I used 74gr of Goex Fg. I don't remember the exact velocity, but I think it was 1150-1180 or so. Interestingly I got some extremely low velocity variation. I used Federal Large Rifle Magnum Match primers.

If you use a bunch of compression on it, it does burn surprisingly clean.

I compress my ffg with a card wad over the powder and my expansion plug in my rcbs die. Not sure if this is right but its what i have. Can you over compress fg? I only compress what i need to get my OAL that fits my chamber.

You know if you've over compressed it if the case bulges to where it won't chamber.

Been there, done that, but with 44-40. You really can get 40 gr. in the case but no guarantee it will chamber!
