With the RU I would start a little under regular Unique by about 5% and do it weighing each load as the RU seems just a tad hotter .

Haven't got to try out the fake AA#7 yet so I can't help you there but I'm sure someone will have something on it .

OMG did you see the max AA #7 load with the 215 cast bullet!!! 20.2gr 1277fps!!! That sounds insane!!!

Going to try the 9mm Nato Powder (fake AA#7) this week end useing a 250gn boolit.

Lee's reloading book has a start load at 15.5gns AA#7 for a condom bullet , so with the info on the jug that says the Nato is 5-10% hotter I started at 14gns , half gn increments to 16gns , OAL 1.6" , mixed brass , and CCI LPP .

Think this will still be a bit on the warm side , 1100 to 1200 FPS according to the Lee book , we'll find out .

Will post an update after I get to shoot these .

Made it to the range Sunday finally , shot some 44 mags with the 14 and 14.5 gns of the nato powder (fake #7) and they shot well , then I put some in the pistol with the 16 gn load , stout and loud and the primers where starting to flatten , all loads shot into a 3" group at 21 ft. so in my pistol I would guesstimate that 15 gns will be my max load as I don't like to run hot loads .

Still working on the Russian Unique in the 45/70 , 13gns with a toilet paper filler looks to be about the best so far with RD's 45-365 boolit , the GB 260 gn boolit still needs work but so far it looks like 14 to 14.5 gn range for the best load so far , both loads are out of my Marlin GG , just for fun I had 1 round I had loaded for last deer season in the ammo box and shot that and what a differance , load was H4198 at 43 gns with the 405 RCBS , WOW , sure do like those plinkers for fun shooting . :)

This is with a 170gr FMJ bullet. The other load data should be completely safe. I started with a 6.5gr charge under a 158gr Speer LSWC and worked up.

I use fake #7 in my Swiss Vetterli 41 Swiss rifle 17.5gr and get 1400fps from a LEE 310gr gas cked boolit. good stuff reserved for the Vetterli only. Very accurate. Russian unique for every thing up to and including 45/70 good stuff.

contender .357 158 swc
i started with
fake 7
8.1
8.6
9.0
and the groups were shrinking the bigger the charge
tonight i loaded
9.7
9.9
10.0
10.1

i will shoot these in the AM and give a report.

i like to color code my various loads by using a marker on the case heads.
my reason is two fold
1 it makes for easy identification
2 it just looks so darn festive!

hmmm
i guess i am not the hot-poop shooter i thought i was.
i got disappointing groups with the loads above.
i am going to slug this bbl. and see what i really have here.
these are store bought boolits and the lube is way too hard.
back to the old drawing board.

UncleBill if you only mark the primer then when you fire/deprime/clean/etc. you have an unmarked casing to start over with. Anyway that is what I do.

i chronographed 3 rnds. and got these numbers
1371
1288
1302
this powder and these bullets are just not working for me.
i keep thinking there is something basic that i am doing wrong.
shooting from a rest
being careful and methodical.
but it's just not panning out.

50 ft. groups
i also shot some random factory ammo i had laying around.
