Picked up a new in the box with all papers, unfired, Daisy 717 today. Got it at a garage sale for all of $50.00, only thing wrong was it has left hand grips.

Oh well, Right Hand grips are already on order from Daisy for less than $10.00.

We'll see how it shoots in a few days when the grips get here!

I have an old 717 but mine is well used. I picked it up for peanuts at flea market. It's way more accurate than it seems it should be. I spent a LOT of cash for an HW 75 and as nice as it is, as far as accuracy goes, it's not really any better in my hands.

I've shot my 717 for years and it still runs like the day I found it and it was half worn out then. Mine is right handed!

When my P17 failed I looked all over for a 747 or a 717 new and was told that they have been discontinued . Really wanted to try a 747 but would have settled for a 717 . Enjoy your pistol .Marvin

Both are available from Pyramid Air at present.

They are now marketed under the name Avanti Daisy.

But I do see they are out of stock.

They are also available from Gun Broker. Some new, some used.

PA told me they were discontinued . So I called Daisy and they said they were discontinued . Called Beeman who bought Daisy and they said that they had been discontinued . All stated that likely hood of it being re introduced was not likely . There was one at Amazon for $299.00 which is way over priced . Marvin

Gave this some thought today . Beeman might not have given me all the facts . They have nothing to offer the youth group 10 meter shooters . They might be going to re badge the Avanti line with their name . I saw on Archers site the QB now has Beeman on it . May be I can get one at a latter date .Marvin

You can probably sell those left hand grips for more than you paid for the RH replacements.

Good afternoon,
I have a Daisy 717. When I was first starting out I had a Spanish Gamo underlever pistol. It basically self destructed, after more pellets than I can remember. The Daisy was the replacement. Shoots really good groups at 8 meters not so much at 10 meters. That being said, pounds of, H&N pellets have went down the tube.
Enjoy shooting a classic and have a fantastic weekend:drinks:

Sorry but Beeman does not own Daisy. Parent company of Gamo owns Daisy. As for the 717/747/953/853/753, yes it's true they have all been dropped.

There is no reason to be sorry . I did get the names mixed up . But thank you for correcting the mistake . Marvin

I found a 747 new . But it is in Canada and they will not ship out of the country . Looking at a used 717 . I looked up info on them . The net says they have a 4 pound trigger that can have a lot of creep . But there is a fix stated for that . There seems to have been quite a few that were new that had air leakage as well . There is a fix for that as well . It also said that they are made in China which surprised me . But then may be it should not have . How is the trigger on yours ? Marvin

Mine is made in the U.S., as far as the trigger goes, yes it has some creep but breaks clean, many claim it gets better with use, I'm guessing that likely will be the case.

I have no leaks at all.

The rear sight needed to be shimed as it wobbled from side to side. Little pieces of electrical tape solved the problem and are unseen.

Very quiet air pistol, much quieter than the P17.

Accuracy? Better than me so far, and I've only tried 2 different pellets.

I own 747 and a 753 rifle. They are cheaply made pieces of sheet metal, plastic, mystery wood, and pot metal. But......................they are extremely accurate and the very last airguns I would ever sell. I love mine. I did order some common spare parts from Daisy to have on hand just in case.
