Im looking for something really heavy for my 300 whisper w/ 1in8 twist. It should be able to stabilize up to 1.75" at subsonic speeds. The heaviest Ive found is 220 grain. it can be .309-.312 or so. Money is an object, so be gentle.

With that 1 - 8 twist, you'll hit 110,000 rpms at ~ only 1225 fps.

I size the Lee C312-185R to .309. It fits the bore really well and is inexpensive.

Its for less than 1050fps.

I'd think a 6 cavity steel mold in most brands would be pretty heavy.

I guess the really hard question would be, what kind of ballistic coeficient would that 6-cav have.

rufracer I think ballistic coefficient is based on velocity so it would depend on how you launched it.

Everything is listed by bullet size, ie 311-190 PB = a 311 size bullet weight 190 grains and Plain base.

But they are some fine moulds

Mountain Mold is a good place to start. You can design your own and they'll cut it for you.

JeffinNZ,

Will that thing cycle in an ar?

Couldn't say. I have no experience with AR's. Should be a factor of seating depth though. You could ask Jim what his customers are shooting it in.
