I just picked up a S&W 38sp M&P Target. Should make a good WC gun. About the
same as a K38 without the frills. Basically service revolver with adj. sights.195111

You're aware, I hope, that you're going to shoot a very collectible and valuable revolver (quick look at SCSW indicates a value of at least $2K)? If you do, keep pressures low with the wadcutter ammo you were speaking of. VERY NICE REVOLVER there!

Yes, I am aware of what it is. I have 4 K38s and I only shoot cast WCs at about 750fps in them.
Have been on the quest to find a S&W 32/20 Target when I ran into this MP target, to good to
pass up. I did buy a nice 32/20 but not a Target. Will do for now but will trade it off when I find
a good 32/20 Target that is reasonably priced.195120

This is why I can't own anything like that revolver. I could not just have it in the "collection", I would have to shoot it.

If shooting it lowers the value, I don't want it. I will happily ogle yours, and fondle it if you let me, and tell you what a swell piece it is, but.....

if I can't shoot it, I don't want it.

That is truly a nice revolver.

Oh I'd shoot it! Just wanted the OP to know he had something very rare and nice if he was unaware of what he had snagged.

I have one I don't mind shooting... M&P target from the early 30's..

Timed fire, no rapid fire and no hollow based wad cutters.

Nice gun there!

Hope you find that 32/20 target. It can happen!

I have it's twin here, mine has the gold bead front sight, unsure if it's the Call version, or McGivern version of the bead. Anyhoo, it shoots very well indeed with wadcutters and Bullseye. That's a nice looking example you have there :)
