yeah,

i hear a high pitched whistle 24-7 just about on the same note as my hornady lock-n-load powder measure.
you set it.... and when it reaches the desired measure.....it beeps!
or sometimes it does....or did it? ....i don't know cuz i didn't hear it.

so as a self proclaimed "bubba"..... i bubba'd it!

here my pictures of what i did and how it works.

follow the numbers on the pictures in case they get outta order.

That's about as slick a fix as I've seen - you did a VERY good detailed tutorial there.

Well that is a great fix; if I'd a thunk of it I wouldn't call it a bubba I'd call it brilliant!

Great job on that fix. I don’t have an automatic measure, but I do have that whistling in my ears. Only good thing is the doc says my hearing loss is at the same frequency as a woman’s voice.

Nice, creative solution. Great walkthrough too. That was a good read.

Thank you; two questions, though:
1/ Might you provide a source for the LED? (Radio Shack stores are closed..)
2/ Is polarity an issue -- e.g., does it matter which wire goes to which wire of the LED?
Thanks.

Hi George,

sadly the place i bought my leds from (meinuers) used to allow walk in customers, had a counter & showroom.

now you have to call in with a $250 to be picked up before they will even unlock the doors!

Fry's appliance and electric store is a national company and they have them.

doesn't matter which wire you soldier up to the beeper, it'll work. no polarity.

works also regardless of brand ....lyma, rcbs, hornady, etc.

As an old and not to handy guy you lost me with the 2 #60 drill holes. Guess I`ll just have to listen closer on mine. Neat fix you did though.Robert

#60 drill bits are tiny ...but are available thru any hardware store.

if that becomes an issue...get a pair of small visegrips pliers and use them to hold a sewing needle.

heat the needle over a candle until it glows, a push the holes thru the plastic then clean up around the holes
with a utility knife.

Translated. Drillntwo holes for the wires and fill them with hot glue or silicone when you have the wires where you want them.
