It's exciting to get a new gun, and anticipation is part of that excitement. But once you've got it, and decide you don't like it---what a letdown!

Try waiting 10 days when a Federal Judge says you shouldn't have to wait. Appellate court says I should wait but they also say i can't get a concealed carry permit or at least my Sheriff doesn't HAVE to issue it. Some day we may get reasonably consistent laws for the Constitution.

Duckiller, I sure hope you are not holding our breath.

Some guns are significant additions to one's collection, the Model 29 4" is one of those guns.
Some guns are like children, you get all excited about their birth but when they arrived you say hey, this is a lot of work. I purchase a lot of guns, some are toyed with for a while and sold. Some guns are must haves and are never sold. My money is on your forethcoming M29 being one of those never sold and the center of your collection. Some guns sit in the safe while others are shot and carried all the time. Again my money is on your M29 getting regular workouts both at the range and in the field. Is your forthcoming M29 4" blue or stainless? New or vintage? What loads are planning to try first?

New and blue is how I'd buy. Good choice!

Let me be sure I have this right - A S&W Model 29 .44 magnum, blued, with a 4" barrel? Good night, how do you stand the waiting? Gotta almost be ready for delivery doesn't it? The beautiful boolit launcher isn't even for me and I'm out of patience on your behalf - lots of pictures when she arrives and don't forget cigars :-)

I've played with several loads in a 5" 29 and I will say if yours ends up shooting like mine you'll find out it is lights out and quite enjoyable to play with at the range. Good luck with your wait coming from a guy that doesn't like to go to long without something on layaway to dream about

Last gun I ordered from my LGS, was a CA shrouded Bulldog.....took over 6 months. Have a Sig 320 RX compact, on order, presently. The dealer told me it would be at least 3 months, due to high demand. Everything comes to he who waits.

seems like it took longer for my check to arrive than it did for the gun
to get here
