I had to ask her. It is used to check that the fuel tanks are venting to prevent over pressurizing them.

Good for you and her! I know your where you are coming from. I have 3 sons in the Army and all of them have been to " that hot dry place" many times. Praying your daughter comes home like mine did, safe!
