jwp475 and I went to Shady Grove, Florida this week to hunt piggies with an outfit called Florida Slam Outfitters. This was a free-ranging, fair chase boar hunt. It proved to be a tough hunt but well worth the effort. As some of you know, I have been itching to blood my .475 SRH and I finally got the opportunity. Took a 175-pounder with a shoulder shot at 80 yards after a long stalk. The hog went down like it had been hit with a ton of bricks.

Shot another one that we never recovered as it went into the really thick stuff and it was after 9:00 and nearly dark. It was mortally wonded and the offside shoulder was badly damaged. Bummer to lose the animal, but it happens unfortunately........

Here are some necropsy photos to illustrate the heavy damaged delivered by hardcast flat-nosed bullets. I shoot a 420 grain WFN that was designed by 44man, that flies straight even at distance. I am very happy with the resuilts!

Here is the offside shoulder:

These are the two shoulders where you can clearly see the hole the WFN punched through.

And for more perspective as to the size of the hole, here is the shoulder with a .500 JRH round held up to it for comparison.

The two pistoleros........(but jwp cheated and used a rifle on the two hogs he shot! :D)

Whitworth did not tell you that he used my .475 WFN from my home made mold. I delight in the fact that the WFN will shoot to any distance so I can rub it in to those that believe they are only good up close. The boolit only drops 18" at 200 yd's and is accurate enough to hit a tin can out there.
Marko is a good hunter and a good shot, what better platform to prove a boolit works? I wish I could have gone with him. The wife said I could have! After the fact, of course.

Jack Huntington (530/268-6877) built the 5-shot cylinder for it. It started life as a 6-shot .480. The new 5-shots can be easily converted, but mine predates the new SRHs. I am exceedingly happy with it. It's a real tack driver!

It is indeed an FA and it is in .500 JRH -- actually the first revolver chambeed in .500 JRH and was the development mule that Buffalo Bore ammo used. It's a really nice revolver!!

JH has my 454 FA fitting an octagon barrel I got from another FA owner. He seemed like a very nice guy on the phone.

By the way, has there been a 475 WFN Group Buy? I bet there was and I missed it.

Targetshootr, I will go to no else any more for my gunsmithing needs. Jack is hands down the best I have dealt with.

The 420 grain WFN I am using is a design of 44man's and it works exceedingly well!!

Considering that you don't really hunt during the heat of the day, it's not bad at all from a heat standpoint. Jeese, 44man, you are starting to sound like a real deer hunter!! There is life outside of Fall deer hunts!

I know, but I am from Ohio! [smilie=1:
Anyway for those that want a good .475 boolit, the Lee 400 gr shoots very well. 26.5 gr's of 296, Fed 155 primer.

After I made my post I looked at the name on your cap and did a google search , found his phone number and gave hinm a call !

Seems he can do all kinds of stuff for me !

The conversion you just had done on a new 5 shooter he said is about $250 .

He also told me he could fit a new Ruger 30 Carbine cylinder to my Blackhawk Buckeye Special and rechmaber it to 327 Federal , so I would have a 3 cylinder gun (32 MAG , 327 and 32-20) .

He also told me he can do Marlin conversions to 50 AK and 475 JDJ [smilie=1:
