I have a chance to get a old , but unfired, Thompson Center Arms 50 cal Fire Hawk Rifle.

Tried looking it up on the T/C site and it is discontinued.

Does anyone have one of these? How do you like it?

The only wierd thing I found is that T/C reccomends Not caping until ready to fire. as this gun fires from an Open Bolt configuration. Might be a hassle Deer hunting.

there is no Half cock. just Safe & Fire

What do you think?

I had one...I liked it....I kept mine capped with the safety in the notch...I made it out alive....several lil michigan bucks can not say the same thing. I used saboted 45 cal xtp's on top of 110grns of 777 ....... worked great. I loaned it out and it came back with a sewer pipe bore...I have the trigger/bolt parts round the junk heap somewhere. I also might still have the plastic stock? maybe

I've had my firehawk for 10 years & LOVE the darn thing! It shoots anything from patched ball to sabot with great accuracy. Of course you have to dial the rifle charge in to find the sweet spot for your given projectile. Mine sports a thumbhole stock & the only mod I've done is to switch it to musket cap.
