Hello,

I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of a CG63 in 6.5x55 swedish. At the moment I cast only for a 30/30, however I'm considering expanding my operation. There is a custom Mold maker in my vicinity who makes PP moulds, and I'm thinking that would be a good way to go if I'm considering pushing the 6.5 a little bit faster (please correct me if I'm wrong). Anyways, I would probably be using 9lb onionskin or something similar. Assuming the rifle slugs out at a perfect .264 what diameter Mold would be recommendable? Something around .260 even? Thanks for your help!

Welcome to the forum. There's a good subforum here on smokeless paper patching you might want to look around in.

No experience paper patching but I have found the 6.5x55 to be difficult to get shooting well with cast so far. Maybe paper patching would be a good thing to try.

Welcome to the site! Better slug that barrel and take measurements, there's wide variations. I'd bet that about any newer Lyman mold could be a candidate for PP. They cast small using wheel weights.
