So I love my Lyman case prep station. It makes processing brass cases almost a pleasure compared to doing them by hand.

It has one glitch. The outside case neck deburring tool will drive you mad if you are doing larger mouth cases...like 45's. It is almost impossible to get the case centered on the spinning tool the first or even third time for me. At which point it just tries to grab the case from your hand. Many times I have given up.

Now steps in RCBS. They make an outside chamfer deburring tool that works spectacularly well. It's a carbide affair and is like a carbide funnel. I was worried it wouldn't screw into the Lyman but it does.

If you have a problem doing large mouth cases and have the Lyman case prep station...the RCBS chamfer tool will fix things right up.

Another huge improvement is to replace the Lyman primer pocket readers with Hornady.

Available as a package with the handle or individually. They're made from sharp, hard tool steel and can't cut too deep.

Hmm, that rcbs trim mate essentially looks like sleeve that the 3 jaw and post cutter profile is fit in.

I wonder if a machine bushing teamed to press fit size coil be tapped down on the Lyman tool. I have a Lyman case prep center... So this gives me an idea.

Its basically an alignment guide..

Thanks for posting!

You really think they're an improvement over the Lyman? In general, I'm not a Lyman fan. Of all the top reloading tool makes I have the least Lyman brand. Thier case prep center is the exception. I like it better than the RCBS, Hornady and Frankford....and i got it super cheap.

Yes, the Hornady pocket reamers are by far superior to the Lyman. The Hornady tools actually cut and cut well.
