is these pure lead or are they harder than pure lead??

The range lead and clipon lead hardness is approx. 12-14 BHN (and I have had some reports that the clipon lead tested harder than my figures).
The stickon lead hardness is approx. 8-10 BHN. However, it has been reported to me by a fishing sinker company that the lead when poured into 1/8" thin strips, it bends. I have also read in various forum threads, that the stickons are like pure lead. I do offer money back guarantee for those unsmelted pounds returned, but have yet to have a single return since inception of my business in 2007. I do the best of my ability to describe my lead.

I did my testing with Cabin Tree tester but I am far from being an expert. Also please see my feedback thread.

Hello to all,

I have had a flood of PM's in regard to the purchase of clipon lead. Thanks to all that have responded!!!!

From this point forward (my time: 2:23AM, 4/27/2017) I may not be able to immediately fulfill requests FOR CLIPON LEAD until after I tally up the amount of clipon lead that I have in stock. However, the sale will continue for the near future. I picked up more wheel weights on the 25th, waiting to be smelted. So if anyone wants clipon lead, please send a PM - and I will keep track and advise of availability.

I do have PLENTY OF RANGE LEAD and STICKON LEAD ingots in stock.

If any questions or concerns, please send me a PM.

Thank you!!!

Yes, I will be smelting more wheel weights after I ship out over 700 pounds of clipon lead to the folks that responded to the "Fire Sale", you can see the action here: Boxes (https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10209289053287731&set=pcb.10209289053807744&type=3&theater) I have to sort through 900 or so pounds to remove the steel and zinc ww's, the fiber stickons, lug nuts, wrenches, tire pressure sensors, broken sockets, wire drill brushes, rocks, cigarettes, etc. etc. Eventually I do find the lead clipon and stickons!!! I plan to start smelting hopefully end of the upcoming week or next. But not to worry, sale prices will remain until further notice. As an aside, I turn back to the dealers the "junk" and deduct the dollar amount from the payout of the next time I pick up lead from them.

Please send a PM if you are interested, the "weight" shouldn't be too long because I need to free up my trays when the cycle repeats itself!

Thanks either way!

Thank you. As I say, I've been doing this now for 10 years. I know from accidental spills, that the packages survive drops from about 28 inches to the ground. I had 2 fall to the ground a few days ago when I did not notice a wheel on my cart was hanging by a thread (it is a press fit / splined). The cart was OK until I gave it a push to roll it. The boxes were no worse for wear. The customer will report to me when he receives his lead to see if there was any "fallout" in regard to the inner box! And I learned to roll very carefully on sidewalks. Unexpected cracks can cause the wheels to come to a screeching halt, and the boxes go *ss over tea kettle.

Thanks for the 25 pounder---received in good shape yesterday.

Thank you! And your box went tumbling to the ground along with another forum member's two 50+lb boxes! Please see my prior post in regard to the unscheduled drop test! And as requested the forum member whose boxes spilled to ground, he kindly gave me the feedback I was seeking. Outer boxes fine (as I previously mentioned in an earlier post). What he had to say, I kinda figured this would happen; and I trust my forum customer will not mind my quoting what he wrote to me.

<< Outsides looked pretty good, better than many boxes of lead I get.

Inner boxes - both had tears running from at least one corner through most of the adjoining "vertical" 90 degree corner, if that makes sense. Not enough to open up the box and let the bars spread out, but torn enough that picking up that inner box would let a bar or three start to slip out.

So, packing was enough to hold it all together well, even with that spill off the hand cart. >>

As an aside, a lady saw the spill and quickly walked over to "help" pick up the boxes (and she started to reach down)... and I quickly said, NO - they are heavy! They are 50 pounds!

A woman's work is ne'er done!!

Thank you!!! Regarding the strapping tape.... I bought initially 1 box that each contained 24 rolls (1.88" by 60 yards each). A cutting board company owner had a neighbor who lived next door in an apartment. This neighbor pulled out of the apartment in the middle of the night. So the landlord had to clean out the guy's place and knew the cutting board company owner did a lot of shipping (so he inherited the boxes of tape). This was just about 6 years ago. After buying the 1st box (on Ebay), the cutting board company owner offered to sell to me directly, the remaining 8 boxes at $60 each (which included shipping). He just wanted to get rid of them so. Because each roll is sealed almost in its entirety with clear plastic covering, I took the deal. I figured that chances were that the tape would not dry out because of how they were sealed up; and I figured correctly! I think $2.50 per roll is a very good price for 1.88" x 60 yds.

To date: 7 boxes times 28=168 rolls - minus 1 roll that I gave away. So I have used an average of about 24 rolls a year! I opened up the 8th box a couple of days ago. When I get to the last box (the 9th) I will start a search for another bargain.

I know the post office sometimes handles the packages roughly, they drop them etc., so I use a "little bit extra" of strapping tape to give the outer box some much needed strength!!!!198421

I think I have figured out my problem. I need to delete my Tapatalk account and then I won't be getting email notifications. AND I am getting tapatalk reminders from people who do not even have the tapatalk app installed. My cell phone needs to be replaced as well, and I use the computer for most of my forum stuff. In the meanwhile, if anyone knows how to delete the account, please let me know! Thanks!

Edited: I reinstalled this tapatalk app and did an UNFOLLOW of castboolits.... hopefully this will resolve my problem!

** Tapatalk Users ** please be advised that sometimes when PM's are sent to me via Tapatalk, they are not always appearing in my forum INBOX (PM's). I use the computer to conduct my business 100%. Yes, I receive email notifications that a tapatalk message was sent, but the email does not show me the content of the message. Most times, I do see the PM but not always. So if you do not hear back from me if you use tapatalk, you will know why. Thank you **

Note: I don't want to lose potential customers due to this tapatalk app! I had it on my phone, but it was too confusing for my tired brain to use - and I deleted it. When I read my email on my computer, I see the notifications of a message being sent, but the email notification does not show the content of the message. PLEASE send messages in such a way that they go to my forum PM inbox. Thank you very much in advance for your understanding! Part of the problem may be is that I had Tapatalk app on phone, and deleted it, but perhaps I am still there somewhere in cyberspace!198708

Fire sale is still on - but I am almost out of stock of clipon and stickon ingots.

BUT... I fetched more wheel weights Tuesday (not a whole lot 700+lbs, but after picking thru the steel, zinc, lug nuts, valve stems, wrenches, brushes, etc), I end up with about 60% lead to smelt.

And I have about 200 pounds of trays of lead to pick through, from the previous batch of ww's that I picked up.

Will post when I have replenished the supply.

And I have a small shop that is probably due for a pickup in a few more weeks (not much, but it adds up - - because once I am done, they suppliers are ready to repeat the cycle)! Oh what a problem to have (to fetch the lead so that they have empty 5 gallon buckets to start to fill once again).

I will post when I do have coww's in stock.

Thanks!

Wishing everyone here Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas!

I am patiently waiting to fetch some wheel weights, and it looks like it will happen next year! (January, I hope).

Also, I should be obtaining more range lead too.

Presently in stock: Range lead ingots and Stickon lead ingots.

For now, I am holding to the sale price of $1.00 per pound for lead along with the postage discount.
$63 to ones door for one 50+lb box of lead; $31.50 to ones door for one 25+lb of lead.

New price for MFRB is now 13.65, old price was 13.60 Sale price now reflects a discount of 65 cents
New price foe SFRB is now 7.25, old price was 7.15 Sale price now reflects a discount of 75 cents

Price may increase in the upcoming months, but it will not be anywhere near "sticker shock".

Wishing everyone the best in 2018.

Thank you everyone for your continued business, new business, and support.

Much appreciated.

With kind regards to all,

As of 1/26/2018 and until further notice:

Due to a delay of anticipated pickup of ww's from one of my main suppliers, I need to limit stickon and clipon wheel weight ingots to 25 pounds. And 1 box per customer, until further notice. I should have some further information by end of February.

Fire Sale continues!!! $31.50 to one's door, which includes postage discount of 40 cents - USPS Small Flat Rate Box - Lead @ $1.00 per pound - 25 pounds.

As of 1/29/2018, I am out of stock for STICK ON ingots.

At this time, I do not know when I will be fetching more wheel weights.

CLIP ON ingots are low in supply, and limit is 25 pounds per customer. $31.50 to one's door, and this reflects a discount of 75 cents for postage.

When the clip on ingots are exhausted, I will put people on a waiting list (with no obligation to buy).

Stay tuned.

I am a whisker (or 2) away from being out-of-stock for Range Lead Ingots.

Right now, it is planned for me to fetch range lead in 2 weeks (on the 17th) from an indoor club that I am a life member of.

If you want to be added to the Range Lead "wanted list", it has to be done by a PM only. I won't be using this thread to add people to my list. Again: please send a PM if you want to be added to the list. At this time, there is a 50lb limit per person.

I must say: business has been brisk! I thank everyone who has purchased my lead!

At this time, I do not know when I will be fetching more wheel weights.

Fortunately, I can plan on fetching range lead on a continual basis (around every 3 months) and I am now starting to smelt the lead I fetched on the 17th. I do have a waiting list for both clipon and range lead; and right now, the demand exceeds the supply.

Clipon ingots (when back in stock) will have a limit of 25+lbs per person.

Range lead limit is presently one 50+lb box per person.

At this time, I am holding to the sale price of $1.00 per pound, with discount on postage. $63 to one's door for 50+lb, and $31.50 to one's door for 25+lb.

Thanks in advance for your understanding.

Hi to all,

I will be contacting people who are on the waiting list for range lead ingots. It will not be all at once. I have to space things out, and also prepare the boxes of lead (place into an inner box, and secure inner box into MFRB, which requires my cutting cardboard for the filler). A few days ago, I had 2 casting sessions (a couple of hours per session, 2 different days). I have all the range lead smelted now. I did not yet weigh these ingots due to other things happening - plus preparing for the snowstorm that started last night. I plan to calculate how many 50 pound boxes of range lead I will have. But I do believe I should have enough for those on the list, but will know POSITIVELY after I weigh the trays.

I truly understand by the time I get to a person's name - and they no longer require my lead - it is OK and I perfectly understand. The next planned range pickup will most likely be end of May. I should be obtaining range lead 4 times a year, if my club follows through on my and the B&G's suggestion.

I also casted some of the range lead ingots into bars that easily fit into a small flat rate box. The size of the ingot is approx L=8" x W=2" and height depends on the pour, approx 1/2" average. (I used the same mold as that for my clipon lead, but each bar is stamped with an "R" to denote range lead). If anyone who has contacted me for range lead desires just 25 pounds instead, please let me know).

Regarding clipon lead... my business with ww's is winding down. I had 2 big suppliers, but it has been about 6-7 months that I last did pickups from them. One I already wrote about; the other, there is a new shop boss, so there can be a change due to this. My 3rd supplier is a small shop, and I have been getting ww's from him on a regular basis... so it is just a matter of his filling up the buckets! I figure maybe another month. The owner is a friend (known him for decades) and I bring all my vehicles to his shop for tires. So hopefully we will continue business!

So that's the scoop for now.

After Easter, I hope to have some more free time to devote to packing and selling range lead. I have been in contact with some of the people on the waiting list, and have shipped out lead to same.

I had a full plate these past couple of weeks with a lot of stuff, but the firestorm is calming down. Rehearsed and performed in a band at church for St. Paddy's day, and had a lot of choir rehearsals for services held yesterday, today, and tomorrow, and for Sunday. Busy busy busy. Plus tax season!

And no worries if people (who are on the list) no longer have interest in purchasing when I do make contact.

Wishing everyone a happy "holiday" weekend.

Hi to all,

I am going through the waiting list for range lead; and ask that a reply be given either way. No worries if people find lead elsewhere (especially when it comes to ww lead which my supply of same has been greatly diminished. I have to wait for the call, just as a scrapyard awaits for people to come to them with their metals ). Some people have not responded to let me know "either way", so I decided if I do not get a reply within a few days, I will move on. Right now, I have waited 5 days - and I think it is reasonable time frame. And with range lead, as of now, I will be doing pickups 4 times a year.

Regarding ww waiting list.... if you have the chance to buy elsewhere, please do so!!! At this time, I anticipate getting ww's from the small local shop maybe end of this month or in May. Right now, the small shop is my only source of ww's.

Thank you for your understanding.

Back in March, according to my notes, you desired Clipon Lead. I get many PM's in addition to requests via posts. It is information overload on my end too. Sorry about this. I have yet to fetch more ww's. I lost my 2 BIG main suppliers of ww's, leaving just one small local shop now. So I do my best to fulfill requests, and for those people's requests that are "repeat orders", I try to give first time buyers a chance to buy lead from me so I don't necessarily do FIFO. I also found a wayward partially filled tray of clipon lead of about 200 pounds in the shop, and am near the end of that due to fulfilling earlier requests than yours for clipon. I have no stickon lead at all. And have been working my way down the list for range lead. As always, I don't expect people to wait forever for my lead and have many times stated that I truly understand people buying lead elsewhere. I am waiting for the small shop to contact me when they are ready for a pickup. I checked in with them a few weeks ago, and they should be due any time now. As I have stated, coww and stickon are 25 pounds; limit one per person; range lead 50 pounds. Perhaps I am giving too much information here in this post; I don't think I am truly obligated to do so but it is what it is. Lead ww's are becoming more scarce: there is a lot of steel, zinc, fiber, and plastic taking its place.

My supply of ww's is now down to 1 small local shop (I lost my 2 BIG MAIN suppliers for reasons unknown to me but I am like a scrapyard - I wait for customers to come to me! I pay usually double if not more for ww's, so my pricing is right-on). Anywhoo, it is what it is. So if you or anyone who has contacted me for lead, I truly understand if you buy from someone else. There are plenty of resources besides myself and there is not too much I can do about my supply because I have to wait for the call. Thanks!

I have updated the #1 post of this thread to state that I only have Range Lead in stock.

I have been sending PM's to those people having made inquiries in regard to range lead, some dating back to February. I ask to let me know either way... I do not always get a response. It has been a slow go plowing through the list but have neared the end! There are a lot of people (those who posted in this thread, and those who wrote to me via a PM). I believe I have contacted most of the people who desired Range Lead. Just recently (as of today, 6/13), I wrote to Acidia609, KA0811, and Bob Mori. The other people who expressed an interest are as follows, and if any of you are interested in Range Lead, please send a PM only: erOK, xdmalder, Bulldog, and Sailormilan2. If I missed anyone, just send a PM. I will sell what I have now on hand (limit 1 50+lb box per person). It is planned for me to get more range lead within next couple of weeks.

* * * * * * *

At this point, I am out of stock of clipon and stickon ingots. I had made notes of people wanting these types of lead too. At this point, I am not sure when I will be getting more ww's. My 2 main BIG suppliers of ww's have apparently taken their business elsewhere for I have not heard from either one this year. I have a small shop as my only supplier now. So, if anyone who is reading this post now, and had wished for clipon and stickon, I will not be contacting anyone when I do get this type of lead in stock. It has been very challenging just going through the range lead list!!!! I will post when I do have clipon and stickon lead in stock; and when I do, it will be first come first served by way of a PM only. Limit 25lbs both types of lead. I understand completely that waiting from at least February is not very good, and I expect folks to buy elsewhere instead of waiting FOR-EVER !!!!

* * * * * * *

So from this point forward, PM is the way to contact me in regard to lead purchases.

I apologize for any confusion I have may have caused. Thank you.

~ Kathie

Thank you. It is not cute to be kicked to the curb without an explanation when I went over and above (paying top dollar for the lug nuts, valve stems, wrenches, sockets, tire pressure gauges, rocks, dirt, etc. that one of the 2 main suppliers threw into the bucket along with the ww's!). But that's business! I run mine with integrity and will do the best that I can. ~ K

Can't believe that summer is almost over.

I had hoped by this time, my ww situation would be in better shape - but it is not.

Right now, the one supplier who I thought would be always there for me, is not! It doesn't matter that I bought most of my tires for up to 4 vehicles from him, since he opened his place back in the 80's. My last pickup was over the top with all the junk that was placed in the buckets and not that it was a big deal, it just got to me. He did say the new person that did this was fired the previous day. But sometimes one needs to speak up (and I did so, but in a nice manner: would you pay to buy someone's garbage? Answer: no). There was a heavy iron tool in the bucket too, that I believe is used to break the bead of tire from rim. He said that is mine (well, technically it was mine after paying double the local price for scrap ww's). I wanted to weigh it in order to be fair in regard to the money... even though we are talking about a dollar. He took $2 out of the till and gave it to me, short of throwing it at me! There was a lot of junk in the buckets, including stuff that should have been put in recycle bins and the garbage can. I failed as a business person (I probably should have shrugged it off) but as a human, I reacted because I am being MORE than fair to my clients in paying top dollar and just want some respect.

In the old days, I could just drop by and see how the buckets were doing. Or, if I needed some ww's, he was very accommodating to help me out. I did stop by 2 times since the last pickup - and 2nd time I got the hint: we will call you. That was about 2 months ago.

Right now, I have 2 sources for range lead. I am not seeking new clients for wheel weight lead. There is more and more steel, zinc, plastic, and some kind of composite sponge like material (for stickons). Lead ww's for new applications has not yet been banned in Connecticut (to my knowledge); I think Mass. stopped allowing shops to use lead ww's a couple of years ago.

I've had a good run since 2007 !!! I want to thank everyone who has bought my wares over the years! So for now, it is lights out for WW ingots - but range lead is still available.

At some point, my fire sale may come to an end, and price may go from $1.00 a pound to $1.04 (shipping extra with probably a small discount to round the pennies off). But for now, I will still hold to $1.00 per pound, with discount on postage.

Please send a PM if interested in clipon ingots. I am thinking of discontinuing this line from my business due to scarcity of lead wheel weights.

Limit: one (1) 25+lb box per customer
Price: $1.25 per pound x 25 = $31.25 + 7.90 (shipping) = $39.15 Postage increased as of 1/27/2019

First come, first served.
No waiting lists will be retained.

The reason for the limit is to give more people a chance to obtain clipon lead, especially now that the availability is getting more scarce. I don't believe in hoarding.

Thank you.

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING:

As of 11/24/2018, I am reporting the results of having sorted and processed 1196 pounds of wheel weights fetched approximately 3 weeks ago.

30% lead (280 lbs clipon ingots, 80.2 lbs stickons straight off the rim) ** In January of 2018, the yield in lead ingots was 48% **
61% steel (727.1 lbs)
8% zinc (95.1 lbs)
1% junk (13.6 lbs).

So as you can see, lead wheel weights are becoming more scarce... eventually in my area, there will be no more. I do have the opportunity to buy wheel weights from 2 scrap yards, but at a high price; due to the scarcity, and my expenses (notably rent), I have raised my prices. For those of you who have dealt with me over the years, I have charged a very fair price. Unfortunately, I am unable to sustain my business without raising my prices. For the time being, range lead will remain at $1.05 a pound, but I may not be able to hold to that forever.

It's a state by state thing. Here in NY they were banned around 2012 or so. The progressives are just trying to force shooters to spend more & more money until we can't afford to shoot anymore. I have been expecting NY to make possession of lead illegal for some time now. Unfortunately, that time WILL come....................

First of all, I like to wish everyone a happy holiday season!

Update on wheel weights. Slim pickings here. If I took into account [1] my travel time (for one place, 2 hours total) and gas, [2] my time to sort through the wheel weights to separate ww's from lug nuts, broken wrenches, valve stems, allen wrenches, wire brushes, and other junk [3] my time to smelt the ww's [4] and cost of propane, I lost money. So, I will not take into account 1,2,3 and 4 [and my rent]. The only people that came out way ahead of the game are the people I bought the 2 batches of ww's from! I made very little profit (none yet as of this writing because I have not yet sold all of the ingots! To date: have sold 75+lbs as advertised in a previous post).

Unfortunately in my area, there are numerous scrap yards, and the tire shops can shop around. Thus, I have to match the price that the scrapyards offer. Per previous posts: So for the 1196 pounds, I matched the scrapyard's pricing. For the 600+lbs (which I bought from a scrapyard), I had to pay them what they paid the customer. Apparently, whoever the scrapyards sell the weights to, don't mind that there is very little lead and zinc; and a boatload of steel ww's. I don't know that part of the business so I don't understand it due to the bulk of the ww's being steel.

Out of the 2 batches, I got at best: 30% lead. Last year this time, I got 48% lead. The steel (for the last 2 batches of ww's fetched) amounted to about 70%. Unless I can buy ww's at a lower price (at least half that I what I paid a few weeks ago), I am abandoning wheel weights as a source of lead.

For now, I have a continuous supply of range lead and will continue on with it.

For the holiday season, I am not selling any lead. The line at the post office is almost out the door. So I will resume either after Christmas or after the 1st of January. I will advise by way of another post here in this thread.

In closing, I just want to thank all of my forum customers for doing business with me; and another thank you for those of you who refer me to the "newbies"; and yet again, another thank you for those of you who are "repeat customers".... Blessings to you! And may everyone have a happy, safe and healthy holiday season!

With warm regards to all,

~ Kathie

Happy Holidays to All...........

I was doing a cleanup of my home shop, and tripped across small ingots (most cast using the RCBS mold). I know most were smelted a few years ago and show the age/oxidation on some of the surfaces! I believe (if I am correct) that possibly some of these may be harder than the advertised 12-14 bhn due to age (but no guarantee). The weight of each ingot depends on the pour, with some being less than 1 pound.

Same price as presently advertised for Range Lead Ingots: $66.15 to one's door.

The first "I take it" in answer to this post will be the one to purchase these handy size small ingots.

Thank you.

The U.S. Postal Service (USPS) will implement new postage rates for most mailing and shipping products on Sunday, January 27, 2019.

Of importance to you are the rates for the Small and Medium Flat Rate Boxes:

Priority Mail Small Flat Rate Box will be $7.90 (presently it is $7.20)

Priority Mail Medium Flat Rate Box will be $14.35 (presently it is $13.65)

I am doing analysis in regard to pricing of my range lead (presently $1.05 per pound). If there is a price increase, it will be most likely be between 5 to 10 cents a pound.

Hello,

Recently, the USPS has experienced delays in delivering both 25+lb and 50+lb boxes. They do an excellent overall.... I have yet to have a package "get lost in the mail" since Feb. 2007. I have updated my Vendor Sponsor #1 post to clarify that once a package is in the hands of the USPS, it is *their* responsibility to deliver it, not mine. To be sure I have an appropriately addressed package, I ask customers to kindly send me their mailing information via a PM (or email) so that I can do a copy and paste to ensure accuracy.

Regarding insurance: Insurance for packages valued up to $50 is free; this more than covers the cost of lead sent in a small flat rate box.

For the 50+lb packages of lead: if you wish to insure the entire package value (up to $100), the cost is $2.80 .

When a package is delayed, I suggest to the customer to either go to their local post office or send an email to USPS customer support. At this time, calling the customer service number is *not* an option! During the XMAS holidays, the estimated wait time was 1 hour. I tried calling them the other day: the wait time was estimated to be over 2 hours! Ridiculous. I spoke to a supervisor about the telephone service, and she too thought it was outrageous! I inquired about a 25+lb package of lead that was mailed out January 12th and tracking shows it is delayed but on its way to the next facility. There is presently a trace on it. Hopefully the postal service will find it and deliver it to the customer. It is unfortunate when something like this happens, but I have no control over this.

I believe one has to wait 60 days to file an insurance claim, and I the cost is around $6.10 give or take.

So, I am just letting you know that for the 50+lb packages, extra insurance is available as noted above.

Thank you.

Bump and a status.

I fetched more range lead last week, and plan to start smelting it (hopefully this upcoming week). I do have some range lead ingots in stock as well. Price remains $1.05 per pound, and shipping is extra. So for a 50+lb box, the cost is $52.50 for the lead, and $14.35 for postage. Total: $66.85. If interested, please send me a PM (Private Message). I reserve the right to limit quantities.

And a final hurrah for wheel weights. As of a couple of months ago, I discontinued the wheel weight "line of business" as a source for lead because only about 28% of the total I last fetched from my major supplier were lead. A losing proposition for me (and the lead content would be about the same, if not less). The major supplier of my ww's has discontinued the use of new lead wheel weights, and have gone over to steel. HOWEVER, I was given first refusal in regard to buying their remaining NEW *clipon* wheel weights that they had in stock! I paid their asking price, (which was far above scrap value, but the only waste I would have is the steel clips). A week earlier, they called me in regard to fetching their ww's and I told them that I discontinued this part of my business. I explained why. They could not "talk me into" fetching their weights! They were disappointed to hear this news. And they know that I paid them better than what they could get at a scrap yard. We had a nice working relationship, and it had been a win/win for both of us. I guess this is why they gave me first refusal on buying up their remaining new clipon ww's. And my contact there told me they were disappointed at the price the scrapyard paid them the week before (far less than what they would have received from me).

Back to clipon ingots! The price for clipon ingots is $1.30 per pound x 25 lbs = $32.50 + $7.90 shipping, for a total of $40.40 . At this time, the limit is 25 pounds per person. However, this could change depending upon the interest shown. But for now: 1 box, 25 lbs.

I have yet to box up the ingots. If anyone is interested in buying a box (25 lbs), the first 10 people to respond to this post will be put on the waiting list (no obligation to buy when I do have the ingots ready to ship).

Thank you.

Hi,

Due to not having a flurry of responses to my clipon waiting list idea posted here in this thread, if anyone is interested in either range lead ingots or clipon ingots, please send me a PM (Personal Message). However, I have received PM's for both types of lead and this works much better!!! So it is no longer necessary for me to maintain a waiting list under the present circumstances.

FYI: I will be obtaining a steady supply of range lead. And as advertised previously, I no longer fetch ww's due to the ever diminishing lead content (it used to be close to 90% lead circa 2007) and as of February, it was 28%.

I had a good run with the wheel weight lead! Each year, the lead content was lessening and I knew the day would come that I would discontinue this line of lead supply. I had planned to discontinue fetching ww's when the lead content got to be around 50%. And in January 2018, it was around 48%. The major tire store I have been dealing with, stopped buying NEW lead clipon ww's a few months ago (they changed over to steel).

So that's the scoop!

~ K
