Hi folks,Watching ebay and a swage die for 44cal and at $43.50 I decided to be smart ass and bid $44. and I won,Dies arrived and I now have a die for swageing half jackets into 44 slugs. What I bid on and bought was half a die set of CH 101 dies.BUT I do not have the core seating die.
Hey I am learning,I am having fun mashing lead.

You could try it out 1st by re-swaging some cast and lubed boolits.

It would let you check out the dimensions and overall shape -- to make sure it actually makes what you think it should.

I had to make a 1/4" long spacer to fit up inside my 101 45 cal SWC die... It just wouldn't swage anything smaller than a 240g boolit..... which was unfortunate, because I really wanted 185 and 200g SWC's for my 45 ACP.

This spacer also taught me that Free Machining leaded steel (12L14) swages down just like lead up inside a swage die....

Good luck with yours.

T/john,This molud can be adjusted and I can swage 148gn 38 w/c inti 429dia hollow points and 45acp 180gn into 420 dia slugs for a 44/40,tis fun.Have two base plugs, one flat and the other concaved ie dished.
The spacer idea was good but wrong metal.Did you get it out?
