As mentioned in my earlier post I made a single flat head screw hold the percussion lock plate in place. I have seen a couple of other guns with that setup and that was how the rifle I bought from Emery on the web site here was assembled. The seating area for the lock has to be nice and even, parallel to the barrel for this to work. It leaves the left side of the stock clean so nice wood grain can be seen. Of course if you want a nice or fancy plate of some sort that is okay and then use two screws. Here is a picture of the original stock that was replaced with one made of fancy walnut.193740The screw head is just visible behind the cock.
