S&W 317 kit gun

Anybody have one of these? How do they shoot? Can you put a regular pair of J-frame grips on them?
I'm thinking about getting one as a trainer for my grandkids.

I used my Single Six for my kids. Wanted the slow fire of the single action.

I wasn't impressed with mine. And from the review, neither was the guys at Gun Blast.

Just seemed cheap and wasn't a good shooter. I traded it in on a Rough Rider 22 and Taurus 94.

But that was back in 2002. Maybe they improved them since then. Hope the have.
