Greetings fellow casters and shooters,

Was curious as to what combinations were shooting bed on your guns. Interested in H110, Lil gun, 300 MP, AA9, HS6 and unique. Any data welcomed and please share links to other threads that might shed some light.

I use AA#9 with MP's 434640 sized to .433" in my rifle.
No tack driving load but, will do 3" at 100 yds.
Good enough for deer, but, not what I'd call a prairie dog load.

I also use the Mp 434-640. From a Marlin CB I get 3-4 inches with 20 grains of 2400. I believe I could get better groups with a scope, but that's not what the gun is for.

up bluejay,
I have been playing with the same boolit. GCed, powder coated and weighing in around 315 grains. Using 20.5 grains of H110. Fired in a Marlin 94. Good accuracy up to 50 yards. Starts to lose it around 75 yard. Seems to be a stability problem. Your velocity above, is it measured or an estimate?

Measured. I have since moved away from shooting 300s as I get better accuracy with a 280 something bullet from a NOE mold. I haven't finished testing yet but it looks real promising. The bullet was long so I went with max COAL for the Ruger Mag and found good loads from 21-22. Need to narrow down what's best.

I have loaded up some of the lee 310's that i PC in .5g increments. I started around 19g and worked up to 22g. Ill let you know when I shoot them. Where did you get you 21.5g load data as this is 2g over lymans max recommend charge. Any signs of overpressure? I normaly pick which load groups the tightest in a given rifle and load it. If they all shoot crappy ill try a different powder. If 3" is the best I can do with mine ill find another bullet/powder combo till I get under moa. If my muzzel loader and shotgun can shot all in one big hole at a 100 yards I'm sure my 77/44 will as well. Did you replace your trigger yet? I put in a vorgelsen and polished it. Its crisp and I would guess around 3lbs. My factory trigger was horrible.

Did you work h110 up and down as I did and if so how did it group with more/less powder? My overal length is 1.610" seated at the upper crimp. I also weighed my bullets to a one grain variance (before PC and GS), they were 299.0-299.9g. Is yours scoped? Are you shooting from a rest? I have a 3x9 leupold mounted for the test and it will be in my lead sled. I forgot, I also free floated my barrel. If I don't get good grouping I will end up acraglassing under the tang. I did this with my savage 210 slugger and the 100 yard groups shrank from 2.5" plus to one big hole that was just under 3/4" outside measurement. Trigger pull definitly helps. This pic in my avator is from a 14.5" POF. The best group I got out of it after thirty plus loads were .4" then I removed the 4.5lb factory trigger and replaced it with a 3lb timney and tried the same load I shot the .4" with to shoot the cloverleaf above. It now shoots under .4" at 200 yards.

Excellent points Triplebeards!

1. I try to zero and shoot my rifles in as close to field conditions as possible. So I'm using a single point rest most of the time. Give about as close of a look possible to shooting off sticks or off a pack etc.

2. No pressure signs up through 22 grains. Felt like I could go higher actually. Seems like H110 gives good accuracy on the front edge (as low of a powder charge that will not flash) and on the high edge with slight compression.

3. Scoped with 2-7.

4. I will pm you about glass bedding.

When acraglassing my composit stock on the savage I had to drill a bunch of little holes in all directions where I wanted to lay the glass to lock It in place. I always shoot out my lead sled or similar rest during load development. i want to know what my guns capable of and if I miss free handed it was on me.

With a long sold 92 Rossi Puma engraving: 19 gr WC820, 429421 with FWFL and Rem primers. It took a recoil pad and would bruise you anyway but was accurate.
