Just wanted to let others know that one of our vendor sponsors..... Lathesmith made a custom expander funnel for my Dillon 550 for a 9x18 Makarov that is my new project... I gave Chris the dimensions after slugging my barrel and he made the funnel... I just came up from "the cave" after installing it... couldn't be happier...I had been trying to use normal 9mm funnel that "will work" but is not quite right... Don't know if this is the correct forum to post it, but I just wanted others to know that I would recommend Chris and his work...

Kindest regards,

TheMoose

Yes, his custom .357 9mm expander and my finally trying heat treated known alloy Boolits seemed to have finally fixed my leading issues in 9mm.

I just shot my first heat treated batch today, almost 200 rounds between a glock and a shield and it looks like no leading.

Deleted. I made a post that made absolutely no sense. Sorry.

Most of my posts are senseless.

I made my own for my Dillon SDB for the 9mm. I found the Dillon expander was .353, having .001 case springback, you are squeezing your bullets in to .352. Not bad for .355 jacketed bullets, but when you have an oversized barrel, like mine at .358, major swaging occurs in the seating process. I wound up making mine at .356, minus the springback, my result is .355. Good enough for retention, but not swaging.

For someone like Lathesmith to market these custon powder funnel/expanders, is doing a great service to cast bullet users. More people should take advantage of this to improve their ammunition.
