Guys I am just about to buy 3 saeco 4 cavity moulds.
Will I need saeco handles or do the Lee commercial ones fit?
Thanks,
Tony

.............The Lee 6 cav handles will fit and work fine. I don't recall if you have to drill the holes in the legs of the handle a tad larger or not. If so, it ain't much!

While Saeco handles are definitely top shelf quality, so are the Lee. The difference in price though, will pop one of your fuses. Saeco runs about $32+ in the Midsouth catalog while the Lee handles are around $13! I've been adapting the Lee whenever/wherever necessary and they are doing fine. Drilling holes and filing are easy to do. Good shootin. LLS

I just tried seeing if the pin from my Saeco 397 4 cavity would fit in my Lee 6 banger handles. They wouldn't go. It looks like they will work, but you'll have to open them up a little. Doesn't look like it'll have to be much, but for 1/3 the price I can live with drilling them out. The slots on the side of the mould where the handle goes are PERFECT.

There you go! 1 Elcheapo Lee mould handle and 1 Elexpensivo Saeco mould! All it took was a 3/16 bit and about 10 seconds.

Jameslovesjammie:

If you have a set of calipers, perhaps you can take a few moments and give me some measurements from that Saeco 4 cavity mould. There's a sticky at the top of this section, "Lyman 4 Cavity Handles", with a few drawings. If you could fill in the blanks with the appropriatte dimensions, it would be most appreciatted.

had the same issue, just drilled them out a size larger and the Lee handles worked fine. As above, it's a lot cheaper and takes about two minutes.
