I know there has been discussion that spitzer boolit designs don't work, but has anyone ever seen a mold patterned after the 168 Matchking? Even if it doesn't shoot, 'ya gotta admit, it would look pretty cool!
Just thinkin' out loud,

311413 looks a bit like it, no boattail, tho. Works fine at moderate loads in
my K31 Swiss.

I was looking at NEI's web sight and they make one in 45cal, you can check them and see if they make one in 30cal.

rvpilot, A former member of the Shooters' Talk and perhaps this site as well, Aladdin, ran a group buy on a Lee Precision 180gr. spitzer (with a gas check) single cav. mold.* Reports of its accuracy varied widely, from tiny, almost one hole groups; to 5" - 6" groups. The secret to success was to use slow burning powders with it. Once I switched to those powders, accuracy improved in my '06, but it was by no means the best mold that I owned. However, it did shoot well in my K-31's with faster powders, e.g., WC 820 and AA 5744.
*The mold was for a .30cal. spitzer, supposedly based on a Sierra (?) match bullet.

Maven----Starmetal and Aladin being big fans of one another, Starmetal probably bought atleast 2 of these molds. Now that report of ALMOST one holers certainly wasn't written by Starmetal and if it opened up to 5-6" that would be well past 2500 yards.
