I've been wanting to cast for my winchester 94 32 special. Don't want to invest in the rcbs mold at the moment but have the lee karabiner 215gr mold. Don't use it much anymore and thought about taking to my buddies shop and milling it down a little. Or has anyone tried shooting that 215 thought a 32 winchester. I know it's heavy for that caliber but figured if someone has tried it someone here has. Don't want blazing speed so under 1300 for 100yd target paper punching. Maybe some unique or trailboss loads. Just wondering what you guys think.

the 32 win has a fairly slow twist rate.
you might be able to get that boolit to stabilize.
if your rifle is like mint it will accept .324 no problem.
I have no help on loads I shoot mine like I would with copper wrapped lead.

I shoot a 197 (lube & GC) grain cast bullet sized to .323" with a gas check at 1,700 fps without any issues through 200 yards in my Model 64 32 Special. It's stable at 1,600 fps too which was my starting load. Really slams the 200 yard 10" gong with boring regularity. At some point I'm going to up the velocity to a goal of 1,800 fps as my note indicated that at 1,700 fps it is pretty mild and not nearly as hot as factory ammo.

I use a non canister grade of powder that burns between 4895 and 4064, so I won't post it, but my cases are converted FC 30/30 and the primers are CCI 200 LR. I use a moderate roll crimp

The load holds solid 3 MOA 10 shot groups on paper using a Lyman 66 aperture sight and a blade front sight.

If you want to start at a lower cost for a 32 Mold, the Lee C324-175-1R shoots nice in my 32 WS

Thanks guys guess I'll have to give the 215 a try. Hick I thought about that mold but was kind of worried about it not being a flat nose. Even thought about going into it with something and flattening out the nose a little.

Win 94 32 special barrels are 1-16" twist. I use the LEE 8mm 175gr bullet in my loads and size them at .323 with a Lyman 45. I use a flat-nose punch to size them and the little meplat it creates makes me feel its ok to use in a the magazine tube.
And here is a thread from the archives that is very helpful on shooting the 32 Special. http://castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?26928-Winchester-94-32-special

The 32 WSP is a solid performer with cast bullets. The Winchester twist rate prefers the 170gr diet and with either a Lee or RCBS bullet mold, you can't go wrong. I use IMR-3031 from 24-30 grains depending on what I am up to.

I would give that 215 grain a try. I shoot MOA (2" groups - 200 yards) with a 200 grain NEI .323 GC Flat Point using a Marlin 336SC 24" barrel, 4-16 Simmons scope. 16 gr 5744, CCI200, R-P 32 Win Spcl case, primer pocket uniformed, flashhole deburred, Lyman .32 'M' expander, standard crimp, just enough to keep bullet in place when magazine is fully loadded.
