I've been a Dillon customer since the SDBs were $129.95 so that tells you it's been a long time.

started having problems with the powder bar completely sliding its full length = no powder in cases

I tore the powder measure apart and found that the bellcrank had worn a shoulder into the housing; this from the force of the wave washer over a period of many years. There is a bellcrank bushing that keeps you from over tightening the screw but the wave washer does put a bit of pressure on the housing and given enough time caused it to wear.

A few passes with a file and everything was good as gold.

sorta goes along with the idea that water will wear a hole in a stone given enough time

A little dab of powdered graphite should help it from wearing out.

And Dillon will send you new parts for free.

If you like the original linkage don't send the measure back to them for repair/replacement, they will send it back with the failsafe linkage.

Try polishing it after relevelling it as you have and periodically clean and relube with Hornady One Shot dry lube. It helps but the need a hardened insert in the bottom. Unique tech has a derlin self lubing powder bar for ball powders that is supposed to help. All sliding powder bars (Dillon, Mec ect) have problems with ball powders binding the up.
