Do I need to lube for a 200gr RN 452 bullet in 45ACP?

This is a lo-po round with 5.0gr of W231 and WLP in win brass shot out of a 1911.

I have the Lee Alox.

The alloy is unknown wheel weights. I have sized the bullets.

Much Thanks!

You may be able to shoot unlubed boolits with low power loads, but personally I would at least use LLA on them. I would thin it with mineral spirits to apply a thin coat to reduce lube buildup in the seating die. DALE

I agree with Dale, since you already have the LLA I would apply a thin coat just to eliminate the possibility of scrubbing lead.

While it is possible to get away without lube the odds are that it will work, not possibly work with the lube.

i would go ahead and lube them.
somebody a really long time ago figured out lubed boolits seem to work better.

I would use the LLA, this would be a great application for JPW.

JPW?

Thanks, I'll go back and lube them with the thinned LLA.

JPW is Johnson's Paste Wax, you can do a search to see how people have used it successfully in an application similar to yours.
