Been looking a these made by Uberti distributed by Taylors. Anyone have one? How do they shoot with cast? Any info or reviews appreciated. Thanks, Craig

I don't have one, nor have I shot one; but I do have an original Remington No. 2 Rolling Block rifle that these were copied from. It is a very neat handling little rifle, If the planets ever align to where I have the money in hand and one of these Uberti's available, it will be mine.

The sole reason I would prefer the new one to the original is easy ammo availability, my Remington is chambered for .32 Long Rimfire. I do have a CF breech block, but making .32 Long Colt is pretty much a labor of love whereas .38/.357 brass is almost everywhere.

I bought one for my wife to shoot in the Cowboy Action Shooting matches locally. We lucked out and ours has some really nicely figured wood. She likes shooting it since the size fits her well and the recoil is non-existent. I've shot it too and it shoots as well as I can hold it with the relatively crude sights and my terrible old eyes. I should really add a rear tang sight and an aperture front sight with interchangeable inserts, but of course I haven't got around to that yet. I haven't worked up any actual accuracy loads for this rifle yet either ... we've just been burning up tons of old and varied "on hand" .38 ammo with some of it being factory ammo and some of it my own that was reloaded years ago for various revolvers I've owned along the way. Another long overdue project gun that I need to get around to working up some proper loads for ...

Seems to work OK for her and if she does her part it "bings" the gongs. She's even won the odd medium range single shot rifle event with it ...
