Hi, guys Alliant powders are back in stock for the first time in a while down under.

Theoretically Reloader 10x could be a useful powder for cast, but there seems to be hardly any data for it even for jacketed bullets!

Does anyone use it and if so what in, and does it work well?

10 is a bit on the faster side probably needs a filler to shoot it's best.
RL-7 & 15 are super handy to have around.

As I said haven't been able to get Alliant for a longtime in aus. I think the distributors keep a two powder cartel going here to keep prices high. Alliant dried up then you could get vihtavouri now the other way. No imr no accurate either.

I can add 2400 and 7 to my favourite h4188 h4227 and h4895. Do you reckon it's worth buying a pound of each and give them a go?

So 10 probably isn't a great cast powder?

It acts really close to H322. Speed wise. I like it. But it is not for speed. It is for the accuracy.

I have never used it for cast yet. But I am planning on it once the weather changes from swampy mud to dry. I have plans to use it on a Mosin Nagant.

I've used it in .223 for 55 grain and lighter jacketed, and .30/30 for full power 150 grain cast. It makes wonderfully accurate .223.

I use it in the 6.8mm SPC with the N.O.E. 279-124-FP. I also use it in the same caliber with the 90 grain Sierra HP. Both shoot pretty will…

Although, I have found that IMR-7383 works better with the 279-124-FP. But, that’s another subject…

Good-luck…BCB

I use a lot of H-322.
when I was doing some 30 cal cast load testing I found it needed a filler to shoot it's best.
it was very, very good but tended to have velocity variations without the filler.

Runfiveslittlegirl done a write up in about 2009 using 3 different 7.65 argie rifles [different barrel lengths] and showed the velocity variations with and without.
she used the H-322 load with a filler and a home made half jacketed boolit later that year to take a nice 175 lb mule deer Doe.

I use the Re10x in some of my SML loads. I can get it pretty easy and use it in place of VV120, 2015 or H322 in SML. 10

What was used as the filler?

This is about the same as I would say .
H322 just does what it does different for me .
