Price seems close. http://rcbs.com/Products/Bullet-Casting/Accessories/Pro-Melt-2.aspx Somebody must have been paying attention to us casters as it comes with a p.i.d. like the new Lyman Mag 25.

It is supposed to come out in July. I think RCBS will run into the same problems with Chinese outsourcing as did Lyman, and it will take longer to get to market than expected. Not as long a Lyman took to figure it out with China, but longer. So you get a China pot with a $30 PID for the same price. I will stick with my old made in USA Pro Melt and my made in USA Waage melting pot as opposed to the new China RCBS melter with a $30 PID.

How many US jobs are lost by buying from China? We helping to make American great again or just trying to save a few dollars on a casting pot?

I agree, but you either get China to assemble the China Pot or take Chinese parts and put ""Assembled in USA From foreign parts" on the box

I was on the edge about waiting for the new China pot but changed my mind and bought the current production. I had to hook up my PID, the thermostat was showing a 75 degree swing. I called RCBS to ask about the swing and they told me if you got a really good thermostat it is 25 degrees either way and the worst they've seen is 85 degrees total???? Seems awfully wide, eh? With the PID hooked up the ProMelt is perfection. Works like a champ.

They are saving dollars and it looks more cheaply made to me.
